Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how CloudBase Web Solutions (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the PicSift iPhone application (the “App”) or visit picsift.app (the “Website”).
PicSift helps you review, organize, and clean up photos and videos in your Apple Photos library. The App does not require an account.
1. Summary
- Your photos and videos are processed on your device. PicSift does not upload them to servers operated by us.
- Review decisions, cached media metadata, progress, and settings are stored locally on your device.
- PicSift does not contain advertising SDKs or third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
- We do not sell personal information, use your media to train machine learning models, or track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
- Apple processes App Store purchases and may provide iCloud Photos, Maps, geocoding, diagnostics, and other system services under Apple’s own terms and privacy policy.
2. Information Processed by the App
Depending on the features you use and the permissions you grant, PicSift may process the following information:
- photos and videos available through your Apple Photos library;
- media metadata provided by Apple Photos, such as local asset identifier, creation and modification dates, media type, dimensions, duration, file size, favorite status, album membership, camera metadata, and location embedded in a photo or video;
- review decisions, including whether an item is unreviewed, kept, or marked for deletion;
- locally calculated library statistics and review progress;
- App settings and preferences, such as appearance, playback, and onboarding state;
- cached metadata used to improve App performance, including a human-readable location name derived from media location metadata; and
- purchase and entitlement information provided by Apple StoreKit, such as product identifier, purchase status, subscription status, expiration status, refund or revocation status, and whether PicSift Pro is active.
This information is used only to provide the App’s features, remember your choices, improve local performance, display purchase access, and carry out actions you request.
3. Photo Library Permission and Actions
PicSift requests read and write access to your photo library so it can display media, organize review decisions, add media to albums at your request, and delete items after you confirm a cleanup action.
iOS may allow you to grant full access, limited access, or no access. Limited access restricts PicSift to the items you select. You can change or revoke access at any time in iOS Settings. Some or all App features will not work without the required access.
Deletion and album changes are performed through Apple’s Photos framework only in response to actions you initiate. Deleted items are handled according to Apple Photos behavior, which may include moving them to the Recently Deleted album for a limited period.
If you use iCloud Photos, Apple may download or synchronize media as needed according to your Apple Account, iCloud, network, and device settings. PicSift does not control Apple’s iCloud processing.
4. On-Device Processing and Local Storage
PicSift processes your photo and video library locally on your device. We do not receive or store copies of your photo library on servers operated by us.
The App stores review status, cached metadata, media file sizes, location-name cache entries, progress, preferences, and related operational data in local App storage. These records may include Apple Photos local asset identifiers so the App can associate saved decisions and metadata with items in your library.
Local App data may be included in device backups depending on your iOS and backup settings. Deleting PicSift normally removes its local App data from the device, subject to iOS behavior and any backups you control. Deleting the App does not delete your Apple Photos library and does not cancel an active subscription.
5. Media Location Metadata
PicSift does not request access to your device’s current location.
If a photo or video already contains location metadata and you permit PicSift to access that item, the App may display the coordinates or use Apple MapKit or Apple geocoding services to convert those coordinates into a place name. Apple may process the coordinates as needed to provide that result under Apple’s privacy policy. PicSift stores the resulting place name and a reduced-precision location cache key locally on your device to avoid repeating requests.
PicSift does not send media location metadata to servers operated by us.
6. Sharing and Exporting
When you choose to share or export media, PicSift prepares the selected item on your device and presents the iOS share sheet. The destination you select, such as Messages, Mail, AirDrop, a social network, or another app, receives the media according to your choice and is responsible for its own privacy practices.
PicSift does not automatically share your media with us, advertisers, or data brokers.
7. Purchases
PicSift Pro purchases, subscriptions, renewals, cancellations, refunds, purchase restoration, and payment processing are handled by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit.
We do not receive or store your full payment card details or Apple Account credentials. The App uses purchase and entitlement information supplied by Apple only to offer products, complete purchases, restore purchases, determine access to PicSift Pro, and display subscription status.
Apple retains and processes purchase records according to Apple’s privacy policy and App Store terms.
8. Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking
The current version of PicSift does not integrate third-party analytics, advertising, attribution, or crash-reporting SDKs. We do not use advertising identifiers, create advertising profiles, or track users across apps or websites owned by other companies.
Apple may collect and process App Store analytics, purchase information, crash reports, and diagnostics according to your device settings and Apple’s privacy policy. Apple may make certain aggregated analytics or diagnostic information available to developers. This processing is controlled by Apple and your Apple privacy and analytics settings.
If we add data collection or a third-party SDK in a future version, we will update this Privacy Policy and the App Store privacy disclosures before or when the change takes effect, as required.
9. Website and Support Communications
The Website does not currently use advertising cookies or third-party analytics scripts. Like most websites, its hosting and network providers may process standard request information, such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, timestamps, and security events, to deliver the Website, prevent abuse, and maintain service reliability. Those providers process information under their own privacy terms.
If you contact us for support, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message, screenshots, device model, iOS version, and App version. Do not send private photos or videos unless they are necessary for your request and you are comfortable sharing them.
We use support information to respond, troubleshoot, maintain support records, protect the service, and comply with legal obligations. We retain it only for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes.
10. Data Disclosure
We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not share your photos or videos with advertisers and do not use them to train machine learning models.
Information may be processed by Apple or by a service you deliberately select, as described above. We may also disclose information if reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, protect rights or safety, investigate fraud or abuse, or complete a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards.
11. Your Choices and Data Deletion
You can:
- grant, limit, or revoke photo library access in iOS Settings;
- change which items PicSift can access when using Limited Photos access;
- choose whether to share or export any media;
- manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple Account;
- request App Store refunds through Apple;
- delete PicSift to remove its locally stored App data from the device, subject to iOS backup behavior; and
- contact us to request deletion of support correspondence or ask a privacy question.
Because PicSift does not operate user accounts or receive the App’s local review and metadata database, we cannot remotely view or delete that on-device data. Removing the App is the direct way to remove it.
12. Children’s Privacy
PicSift is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a support request, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
13. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to the information we handle. No device, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for maintaining appropriate device security, Apple Account security, and backups of important media.
14. International Processing
Apple, Website infrastructure providers, and email providers may process information in countries or regions other than your own. Their processing is governed by their respective privacy terms and applicable law.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when PicSift’s features, data practices, service providers, or legal obligations change. We will post the updated policy at this URL and revise the Effective Date above. Material changes will be communicated when required by law.
